We are headed to Cooperstown!

NorCal Smash Baseball is an emerging competitive 12U team with a goal for the 2019 season of attending a Cooperstown tournament next summer.  We have accepted an offer to play at the Cooperstown Baseball World Tournament from July 27 - August 2 2019.  Part of joining our team is a commitment to attend this summer tournament.

Our organization is dedicated to helping each player take their game to the next level.  Our team strives to practice the strong values taught to them, through positive leadership, positive effort, positive performance and positive support. Our players are determined, hard working, disciplined, and most of all, TEAM PLAYERS, who are willing to do what it takes to make their own dreams and the dreams of the team come true.

It's NOT too late

The Smash roster has 11 players but we have room for one more.  Please contact Coach John Dean for more information!

Smash Baseball will play 5-6 competitive northern California tournaments as a warm up prior to the Cooperstown tournament.

John Dean, Manager

Smash Baseball is managed by John Dean - a local coach with over 30 years experience coaching travel and competitive baseball and softball teams in Oakland, Moraga, Orinda, Concord and Pleasant Hill.   Coach Dean has coached boys ages 5-18 and girls ages 7-14 as well as instructed at baseball camps at St. Mary's College in Moraga and U.C. Berkeley, including a "hitters only" camp.  Most recently, he managed a successful 12U boys summer tournament team in Pleasant Hill and has served as manager in the Lady Hawks program, a very competitive girls fast pitch program, for the last three years.

As a player, John pitched and played infield up to and through Berkeley High School gaining an athletic admission to U.C. Davis.  He graduated in 1991 and has pursued his passion for teaching baseball and softball ever since.   Coach John's teams have won many league titles, championships and tournaments. However, he prefers to measure his success as a teacher, coach and manager, not in the number of trophies that his team's collect, but rather in the number of players who improve their skills, learn about the game and develop a passion to play.

The NorCal Smash has an outstanding team of coaches and a top notch organizational staff to help navigate the world of boys tournament baseball and develop fund raising opportunities for a successful season and to get our team to Cooperstown.
